July 24, 2020 didn’t exactly turn out as Karina and Carlos expected…

They had gotten engaged and were so excited to plan their dream wedding! But then, in the Spring of 2020, our world turned upside down. And Karina and Carlos, like so many others, had to accept a slightly different outcome when it came to their dream wedding. Unfortunately, the pandemic forced them to cancel their plans of a big celebration. However, that couldn’t keep them from the most important thing… getting married.

So on July 24, 2020 they did exactly that. They said their vows in a private ceremony and became husband and wife! I mean, that’s kind of what the whole thing is all about, right??

And now for the happy ending… One month from today, on their 1 year anniversary, they’re finally getting to celebrate that commitment with their friends and family! The pandemic has thankfully eased off enough to allow these joyous gatherings to happen again, and I could not be more thrilled!

We celebrated their engagement and anniversary all in one with a sunset session on the shores of Grapevine Lake. It had been a brutally hot week, however that evening on the lake ended up being just perfect… There was a warm breeze blowing, the sky turned pink as the sun sank low, and there was a beautiful love story unfolding right before my eyes. What more could you ask for?

Karina and Carlos, I admire you both so much. I love how you took a horrible and disappointing situation and turned it into a beautiful and positive one. I know this wasn’t the scenario you saw when you imagined your dream wedding. However, it ended up being an amazing story about overcoming obstacles and focusing on what matters most. I hope you look back at it and smile, because after all is said and done, it’s your story… Uniquely and beautifully yours.
