I am still in awe of this beautiful styled intimate wedding at Male’ana Gardens in Kailua, HI. Saying this venue is a hidden gem would be a huge understatement. Tucked away in a lush oasis just steps away from Kailua Beach, this precious venue has everything you could ever dream of for your intimate destination wedding or elopement. Sweet Cheri and her husband Scott have created a property that rivals any botanical garden on Oahu. Take a walk through the Enchanted Bungalow, the Garden Cabana, or the stunning grounds and you’ll quickly realize that this is a very special place. Let’s just say, if I was planning a small destination wedding in Hawaii I would look no further than Male’ana Gardens.

Not only did I have the pleasure of working with Cheri at her incredible venue, I also got to witness the fabulous MoanaCheryll‘s hair and makeup talents once again! This sweet woman is beyond amazing. I’ve had the joy of collaborating with her on two styled shoots now, and I feel so lucky! I watched as she transformed my already-beautiful-model into a supermodel ready for her cover shoot for BRIDES magazine. I’m telling you… she is the absolute best. And on top of her heaps of talent, she is so sweet and so much fun to work with! Any bride would be so lucky to have Moana with them on their special day!!

Our stunning bouquet was provided by none other than Hawaii’s number one florist, Watanabe Floral. I can’t begin to describe how lucky I feel to have the opportunity to work with Hawaii’s top wedding vendors. This bouquet was like something straight out of Pinterest. The blush and cream roses mixed with eucalyptus leaves created the most romantic and dreamy palette for our lovely bride to hold! Not to mention, Watanabe Floral must have a secret recipe when it comes to customer care, because working with them is always such a pleasure.

Last but not least, I have to compliment my adorable bride and groom. Jackie and Derek, you two are such a joy to be around. The way you look at each other, make each other smile, and support each other is a rare thing in this crazy world. I’m so grateful to have gotten to know you guys and your story, and I’m so happy to be able to call you both friends. Your love is inspiring, and I’m honored to have been able to witness it and capture it.

This thing I’m lucky enough to call my job has brought me to most amazing people. I’ve had the pleasure of getting a peek into the lives of other hardworking creatives and small business owners, and it humbles me.
