There was a sign that read “Danger: Do not go beyond this point” and another with an image of a man slipping and falling into the surf. So naturally, we hopped over the little stone wall and began to climb down. After all, those signs mean there’s adventure up ahead, right?

After a short little hike down towards the waves, we emerged into a stunning cove tucked up under the rocks. It was completely hidden from the busy street up above. You wouldn’t even know it was there without crawling down to explore. The cove was formed by the most incredible lava rock formations sculpted by years of crashing waves. Wavy lines ran the lengths of its walls displaying layers and layers of different lava and ash. It almost seemed as though you were looking at a painting.

Little Bunker was a bit timid on the hike down, but the second we stepped into the cove his attitude changed. His tail started to wag, and he looked at mom and dad full of excitement and ready to explore! I’m pretty sure posing for pictures wasn’t exactly what he had in mind. Erin and Jacob picked him up and tried to turn his attention to the camera. But the ocean kept pulling him back out, and I don’t blame him! He just couldn’t help his curiosity and wonder as the vibrant blue water crashed up against the rocks every few seconds. However, for a 3 month old Pitbull puppy, little Bunker did amazing!

Erin and Jacob on the other hand could not have been more ready for the camera. These two were so stunning and so precious together! The gorgeous landscape was only a backdrop for their even more beautiful love story. They teased and laughed and kissed and held each with the most inspiring ease. Their joy and love had me grinning from beginning to end of our session. It’s no wonder these two have chosen to spend the rest of their lives together.

Erin and Jacob, capturing your engagement was such an honor. You guys are just too sweet! I am so excited for you and your beautiful adventure ahead. Your little family of three is an absolute joy to be around. I can’t thank you enough for allowing me to document these precious memories for you guys. Here’s to many more!
