Hawaii is so beautiful… Everywhere you look there is something stunning waiting to catch your eye. Majestic mountains covered in green, giant palm trees swaying in the wind, turquoise waters forming massive waves, white sand beaches waiting to be strolled on, gorgeous flowers unique to the islands, and a beautiful culture unlike any other. The list could go on and on. I am so blessed to call this amazing place my home. And to be able to capture the joy that the island brings to others, whether visiting or living here, is another blessing entirely.
This week I had the incredible opportunity to work with some amazing local talent in planning a styled elopement shoot on the beaches of Kailua. And I am so excited to share these images with you!! About a week ago I met up with sweet Larissa from We, The Light Photography in Boulder, CO. Over a cup of coffee we decided to make this idea a reality! So we hustled and planned for a week, trying to squeeze the shoot in before Larissa had to head back to the Rockies, and the results were incredible…
Along the way, we got to meet some remarkable talent here on Oahu. Erika from Perfectly Made Hawaii is truly one of the most talented hair and makeup artists I’ve ever seen, and not to mention as SWEET as can be! She is so much fun to be around! She also turned our vision of a “simple, romantic hairstyle” into a gorgeous fishtail braid laced with flowers and complimented by her outstanding skills with a makeup brush. All the Disney princesses were definitely turning their heads. The flowers that weaved through her hair complimented the beyond-stunning bouquet from Watanabe Floral. Words cannot even describe how staggering this bouquet was. I am still drooling in awe! Small matching flowers and Italian Ruscus also adorned a simple and elegant cake from the oh, so talented Abi at Cake Works Hawaii. And to top it all off, Sarah from The Simple Flourish designed some of the most gorgeous calligraphy pieces I’ve ever seen!
Someone pinch me, because I’m still having a hard time believing this actually happened. I am so, so blessed to have had the opportunity to work with this incredible team! It couldn’t have happened without everyone’s amazing talent and effort! I can’t thank you guys enough! A special thanks to Larissa for enduring a whirlwind of planning with me to make it happen! And a very special thanks to my dear friends Casey & Marina for being the world’s most perfect models, and letting me capture a moment of your beautiful love story that I’m so grateful to have witnessed. Love you guys! I am so excited to finally get to share these photos with you! Hope you enjoy!
