Nikki and Austin once again gave me the huge honor of documenting another chapter in their beautiful story… After capturing their proposal and their engagement session, it makes it that much sweeter to be capturing them as new parents. And the part that makes it even sweeter? Nikki has been my best friend (well if we’re being honest, more like my sister) since we were about 10 years old.

In February, they found out they were expecting their first child together. A sweet little baby girl they named Sienna. Unfortunately, a couple months later, Sienna received a life-limiting diagnosis.

The strength and courage I’ve witnessed since that day has been unbelievable… Nikki and Austin took a devastating situation and chose to handle it with beauty and grace – honoring Sienna’s life and being grateful for every moment they have with her.

To my best friend… I’m so incredibly proud of you. As difficult as it’s been, it’s also been truly amazing to watch you become a mother to this little girl. Sienna is so loved and so lucky to have a mom like you. And you are both so lucky to have Austin as a husband and father. I’m so thankful that you have him to lean on and walk with through this deep valley.

I know Sienna’s story will touch many other lives, and I’m so glad she has you to help tell it. I love you both so much.
