Alex and Patrick’s wedding was simply magical… The bride and groom said “I do” in the middle of a sculpture garden surrounded by their loved ones and stunning works of art. Then they danced the night away to the rhythm of a live band underneath a canopy of string lights and stars. It was truly one of those once-in-a-lifetime events that you could never forget even if you tried.
Having known Alex since I was a little girl, I can tell you with certainty… She has the most colorful personality – full of warmth, kindness, energy, grace, and beauty. It’s no wonder all those beautiful traits came shining through in the style of their wedding. Every detail of the day was exploding with color – from the invitation suite, to the florals, to the cake, to the “garden chic” guest attire, right down to the groomsmen’s pocket squares. This beautiful display of color seemed to breathe life and energy into everyone in attendance.
The Nasher Sculpture Center in Dallas made for a perfect backdrop to this spectacular day. With the help of Gathered Events, the garden was transformed into a scene from a fairytale. The tables were adorned with gorgeous florals, linens, and place cards (handmade by a friend of the bride). The dreamiest blanket of lights hung from the canopy of trees overhead. And the string quartet and live band provided the loveliest soundtrack for it all.
The final touch was the beautiful weather. It was forecasted to rain all day. However, the bride and groom had everyone they knew hoping and praying for good weather. Her father’s sister even brought eggs to a church in the Philippines as a traditional prayer for fair weather. And someone must have been listening, because the rain held off all day. In fact, as a sendoff for the bride and groom, they gave a huge clap of thunder the exact moment Alex and Patrick kissed during their grand exit. It was the perfect ending to the perfect day.
Of course, the cherry on top of it all was the couple themselves. Alex looked like she belonged on the red carpet in her Pronovias gown, and Patrick looked like he belonged right there beside her. They were so full of joy and excitement all day. They treated everyone around them with so much kindness. And most importantly, they had a blast getting married to their best friend, celebrating with their friends and family, and dancing the night away together before jetting off to their honeymoon in Greece.
Alex and Patrick, thank you so much for giving me the honor of capturing this incredible day for you two… I can’t put into words how special it was for me to be there, to rekindle an amazing friendship, to celebrate you, and to help freeze this moment in your lives… I hope these images bring you so much joy for generations to come. I love you guys and I’m so unbelievably happy for you. Congratulations, Mr. & Mrs. Russell!!
