I guess you could say this engagement session was extra special for me… But that would be an understatement.

See that gorgeous girl with the huge smile on her face? That’s my very best friend in the whole world, Nikki Fox.

We were about 10 years old when we became inseparable. Back then life consisted of Disney movies and school projects during the week, sleep-overs and Saturday morning baking on the weekends, and whiling away our summer days at Six Flags Over Texas. Our childhood was one for the books, and I cherish those easy, carefree days. But unfortunately, we had to grow up some time. So life continued to change as we faced junior high, high school, college, and then the big scary real world. But through all of that, one thing never changed… Nikki was right there by my side.

But I couldn’t keep her all to myself forever. I always knew her Prince Charming would come and sweep her off her feet. And he did.

Austin, was the missing puzzle piece. He came into Nikki’s life like a sudden flame. He was handsome, sweet, and hilarious. He made her laugh till she cried, brought her flowers to cheer her up, and did his very best to listen and understand her. He respects and loves the heck out of her. But most importantly, he keeps life fun and makes her smile. Like constantly. (I mean just look at these photos). Who could blame her for falling so hard?

Nikki, I’ve known the love and loyalty that your heart has been capable of for almost 20 years. You’re like a precious gem that’s incredibly rare and difficult to find. And all I ever wanted was for your future husband to see that in you and cherish it. I have full faith that Austin does and will continue to for the rest of your lives.

I’m so excited to watch you two build a life together. And so happy that there will now be someone else that understands how amazing it is to have you by their side through all of life’s ups and downs. Austin, you’re getting the best girl in the whole world, and I hope you know that. I can’t wait to stand next to you guys in a couple months as you officially begin your journey together as husband and wife. I love you so much! Congratulations to the future Mr. & Mrs. Valente!!!
