I rarely experience a wedding day where the bride and groom are quite as relaxed and carefree as Kelsey and Isaac… These two are always so joyful, and I was so happy to see that their wedding day would be no different. I always tell my couples that one of the most important things you can do on your wedding day is let everything go, relax, and enjoy every second – because it will fly by. Kelsey and Isaac seemed to take my advice to heart. Either that or it all just happened naturally for them – which is even more amazing.
Kelsey and I go way back to junior high school. Although we weren’t the best of friends, I could always tell how kind and genuine she was. After all. she was nice to me during my awkward junior high years. Do we need any more proof than that? I was so excited when she reached out to me letting me know she had gotten engaged!
After meeting her fiancé, Isaac, I could tell right away they were a perfect match. And their story is just about as sweet as it can be. She was an ER nurse. He was a paramedic. He would bring patients to her in critical condition and she would put that heart of gold of hers to work saving lives. It’s not hard to imagine how easy it was for them to notice each other. With a little nudge from their friends, they went out on a couple dates and the rest was history – falling in love was the easy part. Now if that’s not move love, I don’t know what is.
Throughout the entire wedding day, I never saw Kelsey without a smile on her face. She was marrying her best friend, and she simply could not wait. No matter what came up, it didn’t seem to bother her one bit. She knew the real reason of why she was there that day. And it wasn’t to have perfect flowers or a perfect dress or the perfect cake.. No. It was to walk down that aisle and make a vow of marriage to her best friend. She never lost sight of that, and that is the best attitude you can possible have as a bride.
There were so many incredible moments throughout the day… Their first look, their first dance, the toasts, oh the toasts…. During Kelsey’s sister Kara’s speech she gave her a childhood stuffed animal that was once Kelsey’s. When Kara went off to college Kelsey had put him in her car to keep her company on her new adventure. Then when Kelsey went to college, Kara gave him back for the same reason. Then Kara got married, and the stuffed animal changed owners once more. But now, Kara was giving the little guy back to it’s original owner – to keep her company during this new chapter of her life. And to wrap up these sweet toasts, Kelsey’s brother Corey raised a glass to their grandparents – who had gotten married on that very same day, December 1st, many decades ago.
I simply couldn’t get enough of this sweet couple, their sweet family, and this sweet wedding day. Words cannot express how grateful I am to do what I do. Kelsey and Isaac, thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of your incredible love story. I feel so honored to capture this beautiful milestone that marks the beginning of a truly amazing journey. I am so happy for you two, and I cannot wait to see what the future has in store for you. Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Ray!!
