One of the greatest honors I have as a professional photographer is preserving precious memories for families… capturing fleeting moments in a family or a little one’s life. Although it’s been said many times, many ways… they grow up so fast. And it’s true. Don’t blink, because before you know it, they’ll be going off to college, getting married, and having children of their own.
You can’t slow time. I know we all wish we could… But it just keeps marching on. One thing we can do though is always try to live in the moment. In this crazy world, our minds are wired to constantly be focused on the future – worrying or planning or simply dreaming. (Or stuck in the past – reminiscing or missing something). While small amounts of that are very important, it’s even more important that the time spent living in the future is minimal. The most powerful tool we have for slowing down time is to live in the present moment. Soak it all in, and stop missing out because you’re so focused on what’s coming next.
Thankfully there’s another powerful tool for slowing down time (or altogether freezing it)…. photographs. And that’s where I come in. I LOVE the fact that I can help couples and families capture snapshots of their life in a specific moment and time. That way, they’re free to enjoy life in that moment – be present and soak it all in. Because they know I’m there to capture it for them. And they will be able to relive those moments, that time, for the rest of their lives through those photos.
This family session in the Texas bluebonnets with the Zamora family was the perfect example of all of this. Veronica, you have a beautiful family. Thank you for allowing me to capture these sweet moments so that you three could enjoy a lovely spring day together. I am so honored, and I hope these photos are blessing to you guys for many, many years to come.
