Oh goodness… where do I even begin? Let me just start out by saying Lucy and Josh have the most inspiring, romantic, adventurous story I’ve ever heard. What started as a struggle with a coffee lid and a nice gentlemen helping her out, ended with a move halfway around the world and an “I Do”.
It all began while Lucy and Josh were traveling around Europe (separately). With Lucy being from Colorado and Josh being from Australia, they were both a very long way from home. They crossed paths over a seemingly fateful cup of coffee. Only days later, Lucy was calling her family to tell her she had met someone, and that she would be “extending her stay in Europe”. Before they knew it they were traveling the world together, making memories, and building a relationship. Shortly after, Lucy decided to pack up her life in Colorado and move to Josh’s hometown of Adelaide, South Australia. After about two years there, it was time for Lucy to go home. The Rocky Mountain High was calling. So Josh packed up his life in Adelaide and moved to Denver to be with Lucy. And the rest is history.
To say that these two have a unique love story is an understatement. I mean, it sounds like serious grounds for a Nicholas Sparks book, if you ask me. But it’s not only their story that’s a testament to their love for each other. It’s in the way that they look at each other. The way they talk to each other. The way they make each other laugh. And the way their family and friends praise their relationship.
During the reception, I had the wonderful opportunity to hear their love story from many different perspectives. The different versions as told by parents, siblings, and friends were like puzzle pieces in a beautiful masterpiece. After each speech, Lucy and Josh’s story became more complete, more fascinating, and even more beautiful. Not to mention their family and friends were incredibly gifted at making people laugh and/or cry. (Or maybe that was just me).
The whole day was full of excitement. Family and friends had traveled many miles from South Australia and from Colorado to celebrate Lucy and Josh on the beautiful island of Oahu (that had thankfully just missed a close encounter with Hurricane Olivia). There were new adventures being had, new relationships being built, new stories being told, and a beautiful bride and groom to celebrate. There were hugs, tears, laughter, and smiles as wide as the sky. Let’s just say this day could not have been more perfect.
Lucy and Josh, thank you from the bottom of my heart for allowing me to capture this unforgettable day in your lives. I am honored beyond belief. You have no idea the power of witnessing a love story as incredible as yours. My life is truly more enriched because of the impact you and your relationship has on everyone around you. I hope that your story continues to excite you every day, and that you never stop exploring, never stop growing, and never learning from each other. Congratulations, Lucy and Josh!!
