“Chance get down!” and “Colton come back!” were two phrases heard quite frequently during this family session. These two boys just couldn’t stop exploring. If there was a wall to be climbed, a rock to jump off of, or a wave to chase, they were on it. In no way were they there for our photoshoot. Oh no. They were there for the beach. And no one was going to get in the way of that.

A mom or photographer could easily have been frustrated trying to wrangle them in, but was I? Heck no! I was loving every second of it! Chance and Colton were having the time of their lives. It was as if they belonged in Hawaii. And it brought a HUGE smile to my face. Just seeing the pure joy and energy they gained from being on that beach, reminded me just what a magical place this island is.

There was a moment where I was attempting a shot of them looking right and my camera. But there was one problem… There was a surfer catching waves over my right shoulder. And they were GLUED. I tried calling their names a couple times, but it was hopeless. Instead I chose to capture something much more meaningful. The look of pure wonder and amazement on their faces. It was as if they were being hypnotized by the island herself. And It made my heart so happy to see these two so in love with Hawaii. And I don’t blame them one bit! It has a tendency to do that to people 🙂

Jessica and Tim, you two should be so proud of these boys. You’re sweet family is an absolute JOY to be around. Thank you so much for letting me capture these precious memories in Hawaii for you guys! I couldn’t feel more honored.
