It was an adventure in itself finding Secret Beach on the island of Kauai. After a short plane ride from Honolulu, a quick drive up the coast through quaint beach towns, passed stunning mountain views, and a sharp turn onto a dirt road, I had arrived. There was a small parking lot with a few large stones at the end of it indicating the start of the trail. Without a map, you would never guess there was a giant stretch of beach just on the other side. The little clearing was surrounded by swaying palm trees, exotic flowers, and bamboo plants that whistled with the heavy wind. There was a quiet, peacefulness that washed over me as I stepped out of the car. I would have happily stayed right there in that parking lot all day. But we had a hidden beach to get to! So after a steep, slippery hike down through the trees, I emerged onto a stunning beach. Cliffs surrounded the secret hideaway, massive waves crashed on the shore, and a lighthouse stood proud and tall in the distance.

Taylor had accidentally stumbled across this spot on the map and I must say, it was quite the find! After finally meeting up with her, the next few minutes were spent attempting to catch up on the years and years it had been since we’d seen each other. Our roots go way back to a small church in our hometown in Texas. It was a crazy feeling seeing each other again after so long on a beautiful beach so far away from our past. Taylor and her sweet husband Steve were vacationing on Kauai and decided to celebrate the coming arrival of their first baby with a photoshoot! The gorgeous blue of Taylor’s dress was the perfect way to tell the world that it’s a boy. And their smiles and laughter throughout the shoot told the world that they couldn’t wait to meet him, love him, and raise him. This little boy is so blessed to have such wonderful parents, and I could not be more honored to celebrate this exciting moment in their lives with them. Congratulations, Taylor and Steve! You three are going to make one beautiful family.
